Adult Dogs for rehoming
We occasionally have mature dogs available for rehoming. They may be available because they have been kept as a potential show prospect or have returned to Neilros Dalmatians because of a change in their family circumstances.
Dalmatian puppies are adorable and entertaining but they require more time and attention than an adult dog. Adding an adult to your family may suit your circumstances and is well worth considering.
Here are just a few reasons:
- An adult dog is usually past the puppy chewing stage
- An adult dog has an adult bladder. Puppies can only be expected to “hold it” for as many hours as they are old, plus one. Therefore, a four-month-old puppy can only be expected to hold it for five hours. You probably plan to be home for the first weekend — even a long weekend — when you bring your dog home. But what about after that?
- An adult dog is as big as he’s ever going to get so you know what you are getting.
- Adult dogs are better able to focus, and this comes in handy during training.
- The first year is a lot less expensive with an adult dog. All those trips to the vet for vaccinations and health checks can really add up. A healthy adult should only need to go to the vet once a year.
- Most adult dogs are already socialized.
- An adult dog can join in with your activities already, ie can go running with you straight away
Please feel free to contact me if you are looking to offer a new home to an adult Dalmatian. All dogs that are made available by us are temperament tested before offering for rehoming.
